Argument Powerpoint Presentation Due Date:
Thursday, June 7
Baseball Reading Challenge in full swing- Due June 13
- Reminder: Reading Logs are required to be completed daily along with reading. Reading logs will be checked almost daily as well as post-its.
- For students consistently not completing HW or reading, a Lunch group occurs almost daily to complete that work and eat their lunch.
We have been reading argument texts of our own choice on topics that we were most interested in that are debatable. These include such topics as, "Should School Start Later?" or "Should every kid get a trophy?" We will be creating argument powerpoint presentations in order to display our knowledge of evidence, claims and reasons. Students will also be working on a counterargument and include a rebuttal for their powerpoint. The final slide will include a conclusion:6 slides total. Students will present their powerpoints on June 7.
Supplies Needed daily:
- a three ring binder- no more than 1 1/2 inches
- two marble notebooks - Reading NB and Writing NB
- post-it notes
- dividers for binder
- Pencils or pens- very important!
- charged laptop
- earbuds or headphones are highly recommended!
- your sixth grade smile. :)
