  Daily Expectations

  • Smile, work hard, be kind.
  • Every student is required to read for at least 30 minutes after school each day, 7 days a week.  You should respond to what you read on 1-2 Post-its each day.
  • Students are required to write one short and one long entry each week in their Reader's Notebook.  Refer to the Reader's Notebook Guidelines handout in your notebook for generating entry ideas.  Remember, entries are NOT SUMMARIES. Use your Post-its (synthesis) to elaborate and analyze an important part of the story or literacy device.  Searching for signposts and answering the anchor questions can help you with this.
